Every year again the Jura Hike and Fly competition, that was this year rather challenging. In fact, the weather conditions were not really good for flying. Anyhow, nearly all competitors presented themself on Friday morning at the briefing in Baulmes. And the team did a great job to set tasks challenging the best, but with the option to arrive at the goal by hiking only.
What a great Jura Hike and Fly event we had this year. 48 participants, no accidents and all 3 days flyable all that in a chummy atmosphere.
This was for me a hard hike and fly competition. Not really trained anymore, so after 3 peaks (L'Aguille - Pra de Cray - Les Millets) and 3500 m hiking up and flying down I was completely exhausted but very happy to have it done.

Had the chance to take with me my paraglider on a 2 weeks Iceland road trip in July/August 2017 with my family. And indeed lucky one - could take off three times.

What a great success this years edition - with task settings on all three days - cheerful atmosphere within the pilots and an exceptional media coverage with the TSR present 1 day and La Télé on Saturday morning.
I was that time not participating as competitor, but I was in as task director.
During the 2 weeks holidays in South Africa, we had the chance to watch the top South African bodyboarders in action in the Kogel Bay (Western Cape).
