Wednesday Aug 29th
Start at 11am. So the first day take off at the Brinta, after a short hike from the crête de midi. My first intention was to fly in direction of Prafleuri, but I did not have the last perseveration and changed my goal at Grimentz to go in direction Tracuit. However, not taken a good line I had to land in Zinal. Their I hiked through the thunderstorm, up to the Arpitettaz hut. Arrived at 16:30 I could have go on for another hut, but preferred to rest there and enjoy the view and wait for Catherine and the tandem couple Mathieu/Marjolaine, who planned also to stay at Arpitettaz. At the end we were 7 people at Arpitettaz with Mathieu, Fabien and Marc.
Thursday Aug 30th
Next day hiking over the Milan pass to the Tracuit hut. Arriving there somehow exhausted I had first to eat a plate of pasta, together with Marc and Matthieu, as we had no carbohydrates the evening before... Then para-waiting for a clear sky to glide to the other side, Sorebois and form there, after a short walk another glide in direction Moiry valley. Walking up to the Torrent pass we, Fabien myself and Matthieu found the valley d'Herens with a low cloud base and some northwind. Decided thus to wait for better conditions, but that was a bad choice as the cloud finally covered the take off. With just 2 hours left until end of day and no chance to reach a hut, I decided to turn back and flew down the other side to Grimentz. Their I relaxed in my apartment.
Friday Aug 31th
With the coulds hanging low in the morning I took it easy and enjoyed a nice breakfast. Anyhow my only goal of the day was to reach the Cabane des Becs de Bossons. So at 10:30 I headed off towards the hut. At 11:30 Loic catched me up at the Bendolla restaurant where we had a warm soup together. The last ascent to the hut we did in a fast pace to overcome the nasty weather condition. It was rainy, windy and cold and we arrived half frozen at the hut, as so many others. There we all had a chummy evening at the famous Vercofly's encounter evening.
Saturday Sep 1st
My goal was to fly down to Vercorin. To do so we had to walk down below the cloud base. That has been reached just before "Le Louché". Fabrice and Frank took off before me. I followed a little later but had immediatly to pull the ears as the clouds started to suck me up. When trying to release the ears, one side did not open, probably due to the wet fabric. Thus I decided to land and taking off again, but from there I could not reach anymore Vercorin and had to walk down. Finally at Sigeroula I took the cable car to Vercorin.
