On Thursday 17th a first task of 2 days has been set from Baulme to the Suchet - Tête de Ran - Montagne de Boujean - Nods. A total of 100 km in straight line. On the first day we faced a strong east wind that complicated the situation. On top of the Suchet the wind was so strong that a take off was not possible. We had to go down to a lower take off place "la Cotelette". I managed to fly 23 km , before being pushed down by the head wind at the Mont Aubert, as most of the competitors. From now on Vincent joined me till the end of the task.  We walk the rest of the day  to the foot of the Tête de Ran and found an accomodation in the Hotel la Croisée in Boudevilliers.

The next day was cloudy and rainy. We went up to the Tête de Ran and manged to take off despite some wind from the back and made a 6.5 km glide. Again walking up to the Chasseral. Here we had to wait a moment to be able to take off and glide another 8 km. Landed I met Sylvain running, already back from the Mont Boujean and heading for the goal. I went for another 16 km to the Montagne de Boujean and on the way I catched up again Vincent. The last turn point we walked down already exhausted and expecting the end of the task. It finished at 17h about 19 km in front of the goal.

On Friday evening we enjoyed a nice evening all together on top of the Chasseral. The next day, we had to cancel the task 2 for the 19th and 20th due bad weather.

In summary: 19 hours with 37.5 km flying, 71.5 km hiking with 3050 m ascending slope. Ranked on place 5 together with Vincent. The race has been won by Sylvain Freiholz in 17 hours, congratulation.

I can look back to that race with a big satisfaction and I am looking forward for next years edition !
